How to Improve Capacity of Ball Mills

As general-purpose grinding equipment, ball mills are widely used in mineral processing, building materials and chemicalindustries. Ball mills can be divided into two types of dry wet grindingmethods. According to different ways of ore discharge, it can be divided intolattice type ball mill and overflow type ball mill. Below, the ZK CORP willshare with you some information on how to improve the ball mill's productioncapacity.

First, ways to increase the output of ball mills

In general, there are three direct ways toincrease the output of a ball mill:

1. Add a crusher before the mill;

2. Improve grinding system and improvegrinding efficiency;

3. Add high-efficiency classifier.

Second, improve the output of ball mill

1. Grinding process.

There are two types of grinding processes:open flow and circulatory flow. Under the same conditions, the output of thecoil flow is about 20-35% higher than the open flow. In the circle flowproducts, the distribution of particles is relatively uniform, and it is alsomore convenient to adjust the cement grade; while the open flow mills out thegrinding materials, that is the finished product, the distribution of theproduct particle composition is relatively dispersed, and the phenomenon ofgrinding is stored, which affects the cement quality output.

2. Grinding material granularity

After many years of research and practice,engineers and technicians at home and abroad have put forward thepre-pulverization process of “breaking more and grinding less, breaking andgrinding”, greatly increasing the output of the mill, significantly reducingpower consumption of grinding, and increasing the energy saving effect.

3. Water and temperature of grindingmaterials

First of all, it should be noted that themoisture content of the material entering the grinding material is not as moistas possible. The finer the cement fineness,the more sensitive moisture.When the moisture content is unsatisfactory, it must be puddle-ground.

4. Ball mill tube ventilation

The internal ventilation condition of theball mill directly affects the efficiency of pulverized grinding, and it ismore common to open the flow mill and adopt the natural drawing mill. One ofthe ventilation effects is to timely discharge the fine powder in the mill soas not to affect the grinding efficiency; the second is to reduce thetemperature in the mill and prevent the plaster from dehydrating the tailingsof the silo.

5. Ball mill liner

The inner structure of the mill refers to theinner liner of the mill barrel, the sampan plate, and the inlet and outletdevices of the partition board. The mill liner is mainly used to protect thecylinder body and avoid the direct impact friction of the grinding bodymaterial on the cylinder body. Secondly, different types of liners can be usedto adjust the movement state of the grinding bodies in each chamber.

6. Reasonable adjustment of the grindingvolume and grading

1) Matching power consumption of ball mill

According to the number of tons of grindingbody load, it can be roughly determined how much power motor should beequipped. Of course, the actual situation should be determined based on theresults of the research department.

2) Ball mill fill rate

The percentage of the volume of the grindingmill that is loaded into the mill grinding body is called the filling rate. Theball mill filling rate is generally 0.4 or less.
