The ball mill is the key equipment for crushing the material after it has been crushed. This type of grinding machine is equipped with a certain number of steel balls as grinding media in its cylinder. It is widely used in the production of cement, silicate products, new building materials, refractory materials, fertilizers, black and non-ferrous metal dressings and glass ceramics, dry or wet grinding of various ores and other grindable materials. The ball mill is suitable for grinding various ores and other materials.

The ball mill is suitable for grinding various ores and other materials. It is widely used in mineral processing, building materials and chemical industries. It can be divided into dry and wet grinding methods. According to different mining methods, it can be divided into two types: grid type and overflow type.
The support of the ball mill is subjected to the load of the entire swivel portion, the grinding body and the material during movement or at rest. The bearings of the mill are one of the main parts that determine safe production, easy maintenance and energy savings.
The working characteristics of the mill support device: First, the load is heavy and has a certain vibration. Second, the rotation speed of the hollow shaft is low, and the linear speed of the hollow shaft is generally around. Third, the working environment of the mill is harsh and the dust is large. Therefore, when designing the mill support device, it is necessary to consider not only the continuous operation of the mill, but also to reduce the power consumption between the hollow shaft and the spherical tile due to friction, and to prevent dust from entering.
The support device of the mill can be divided into the following forms: Main bearing support, shoe support and roller bearing. Generally, the main bearing of the mill is supported by two types of rolling bearings and sliding bearings. It is possible to use a rolling bearing on a small mill, and the reason why a large mill does not use a rolling bearing is that the processing cost per piece is high, and the machining precision requirement with the bearing is also high. The installation and maintenance of rolling bearings is difficult, and the service life of rolling bearings is limited, and a circulating oil supply system for filtration and cooling is required. Therefore, generally larger mills do not use such bearings and use plain bearings.
The sliding bearing of the mill can be divided into two types: A main bearing with a hollow journal and a sliding bearing according to its structural form.
1.Main bearing: The main bearing of the mill bears the weight of the rotating part of the whole mill. Generally consists of bearing bush, bearing base, bearing cover, lubrication and cooling system. It is characterized by large size, heavy weight and heavy load. It adopts self-aligning device to ensure the straightness of the mill.
2. Sliding bearing: The two ends or one end of the mill are not supported by the usual main bearing, but are supported by the sliding shoes. The advantage is that the shoes supporting the mill belt can have two, three or four, so the structure is not only fully suitable for small and medium-sized mills, but also is not limited by specifications, and can also be used on very large mills.
Since the sliding bearing has strict requirements on the processing precision and roughness of the wheel and the shoe, it is more expensive than the main bearing to support the grinding machine. The structure and maintenance of the sliding bearing are more complicated. Once a certain fault occurs in the system, it is required to find and repair it in time, otherwise it will affect the normal operation of the whole mill. Therefore, it is required to install corresponding monitoring and self-control instruments.
